About the Artwork

Reid Ashford painted this fir up close, just the top half, crowned with a gold star against a sky going from deep violet to soft peach. Every bough is a single pass of the palette knife, thick ridges of teal, cream and golden ochre stacked like feathers, with a few round gold baubles tucked in between.
