“After five years pushing papers at an insurance company, I took a weekend painting class in 2016 that completely redirected my life. The instructor showed us how Monet built light with broken color, and I knew I had to learn that language. Now I spend my days chasing New England's shifting seasons with my easel.”

About Reid

Reid Ashford spent five years as an insurance adjuster before a weekend painting class in 2016 changed everything. The instructor showed how broken color can build light, a language Ashford had to learn. Today Ashford, who holds a BFA from Parsons School of Design, works from Cambridge, Massachusetts, following the New England seasons with an easel.

Impressionism shapes every scene. Pink bougainvillea spills over an adobe archway in Old Town Albuquerque. The Charles River turns amber beneath the Boston skyline, and the sun sinks low over the Gulf at Naples. A five-piece jazz band fills a New Orleans club with color. Below are the canvases shoppers pick most, printed on matte canvas over solid wood.
