About the Artwork

Two wolves lean in until their noses just touch, and that small moment carries the whole painting. Maren Ellison built their heads from bold flat colour and quick, feathery strokes, so gray and white fur breaks into streaks of sky blue, marigold, orange and soft violet. Their amber eyes stay calm and a little sly, like old friends sharing a joke.

Behind them, wide swipes of pink, yellow and blue are laid down in loose, scraped bands with drips and dry-brush edges left showing. The background gives the mirrored pair room to breathe and keeps these wolf art prints feeling lively rather than stiff. It reads as pop art with a painter's hand still in it.

This piece suits anyone who loves wolves but wants something warmer than a moody forest scene. It makes a sweet gift for a couple, a pair of siblings, or a friend who sees their own little wolf pack wall art story in two animals greeting each other.

Hang this canvas wall art above a sofa, over a bed, or in a kid's or teen's room where the colour can do the talking. Choose a large wolf canvas size for an eclectic living room wall, or a smaller one to brighten a hallway or reading nook.

After fifteen years creating window displays for department stores, I realized I was already composing abstract scenes every day. The transition to canvas felt natural, though now my compositions exist beyond seasonal deadlines and commercial constraints.
