About Maren

For fifteen years Maren Ellison designed window displays for department stores, and somewhere along the way realized those windows were already abstract compositions. Moving to canvas felt natural. Ellison, who holds a BFA from Cranbrook Academy, now works in Grand Rapids, Michigan, free of seasonal deadlines and commercial limits.

Impressionism and abstraction are the artist’s styles, and the work in our shop has a whimsical Halloween theme. A black kitten in a witch’s hat sits on a glowing jack-o’-lantern. Friendly ghosts drift around a purple Victorian house, and five pumpkins in witch hats share a tree stump with bunnies and an owl. Scroll down for the full set, ready to hang.
