About the Artwork

A single tall seaweed rises from the bottom edge of this piece, its wavy aqua fronds stepping up a gently curving stem. Jessica Hartley painted each frond as a flat cut-out shape, with soft ridges of paint along the edges, and set two small black pebbles at the base beside a loose ink-dark line of sea floor.
