About the Artwork

A big tangerine bloom fills the left side of this piece, thick and round, built up in heavy swirls of orange paint. From the right, a rolling wave of teal pushes in to meet it. Where the two collide, Mateo Callahan scraped, dragged and let the paint drip, leaving a churned seam full of knife marks and splinters of cobalt blue.

This teal and orange wall art is part of our Colorful Gestural Fields collection, and it shows the hand of the painter everywhere you look. Soft pink strokes and a cream ground keep the energy from feeling heavy, while thin drips run down toward the bottom edge like the paint is still moving.

It's made for people who like modern abstract wall art with real texture and a clear focal point. If you want color that starts conversations rather than blending into the background, this one earns its spot. It also works as abstract art for office spaces that need a jolt of warmth.

As large abstract wall art, it makes a strong wall art above couch choice, and it holds its own as abstract wall art for living room walls with neutral furniture. Printed as canvas wall art, it keeps the look of those scraped, layered strokes up close.

My father's beehives taught me patience and the way light moves through morning fog. After dropping out of art school in 2018, I spent two years just watching how colors shift in the markets of Guadalajara before I felt ready to paint them.
