About the Artwork

A great golden star hangs over a far snowy ridge, its long rays stretching down toward the roof of a tiny stone chapel. Below it, one small window glows warm against a vast blue night. Graham Delaney built this star of bethlehem painting with a palette knife, laying the sky in broad slabs of steel blue and cream so every stroke catches the light.

The impasto gives the scene real texture. Snowdrifts ripple in ridged bands of ivory and slate, dark evergreens stand close around the stone walls, and the bell tower points straight up at the star. It reads like a quiet silent night painting, still and hushed, with that one lit window carrying all the warmth.

It's made for families who keep Christ at the center of the season and want Christmas paintings on canvas that say so without words. It works as a Christmas Eve painting for a home that gathers after evening service, or as a thoughtful gift for a pastor, a parent, or a friend who loves O Holy Night wall art.

Hang it above the sofa as large Christmas canvas wall art, over a fireplace mantel, or in an entryway where guests arrive out of the cold. The blues and creams sit easily with winter greenery, making it natural Christmas wall art for living room walls year after year.

After fifteen years fixing engines, I traded my wrench for brushes in 2017. The precision required for mechanical work translates surprisingly well to capturing light on canvas. My garage studio still smells faintly of motor oil.
