About the Artwork

The gazebo at Forest Park sits in late afternoon light, its classical lines doubled in still water. Thick foliage surrounds the structure in greens and blues, while the background glows with streaks of peach, mint, and gold. The paint application is confident, built up in layers that catch the light differently depending on where you stand.

This piece leans impressionist without losing its subject. The artist worked quickly, you can tell, capturing the warmth before it shifted. The reflections in the water are handled loosely but read clearly. Surface texture throughout adds depth that flat printing can't match.

St. Louis locals recognize this view immediately. It speaks to anyone who's spent summer evenings in Forest Park or walked the grounds during golden hour. For transplants missing home, this brings a piece of it back. Also a thoughtful gift for someone who proposed here, got married nearby, or just loves the park.

This canvas wall art works well in living rooms or studies where you want a focal point with local meaning. The horizontal format suits spaces above sofas or console tables. The palette plays nicely with both warm and cool room tones.

After five years pushing papers at an insurance company, I took a weekend painting class in 2016 that completely redirected my life. The instructor showed us how Monet built light with broken color, and I knew I had to learn that language. Now I spend my days chasing New England's shifting seasons with my easel.
