About the Artwork

Liam Novak packed a whole summer into this one. Wavy hills roll back toward the horizon in bands of olive green, mustard, burnt orange and chocolate brown, and every slope is dotted with tiny white daisies. Up front, big daisies with golden centers crowd the frame, standing in grass painted in quick streaks of cobalt, hot pink and gold.

Above it all sits a low sun striped in pink and yellow, set against a cream sky laid on with a palette knife. You can see the ridges and cracks in the paint, and that texture gives this retro flower painting its handmade feel. It reads like 70s flower art, but the loose, expressive color keeps it fresh.

It's for anyone who loves groovy wall art with a sunny mood, or who wants retro living room decor that feels cheerful without being loud. If you collect colorful flower wall art or lean toward a modern retro wall art look, this piece fits right in.

Hang this canvas wall art above a sofa, a record console or a sideboard where the warm oranges and pinks can pick up a rug or a throw pillow. It also brightens a sunroom, a reading corner or a bedroom that needs a little flower power.

Working with fabrics and textures for fifteen years taught me to see color differently. When I moved back to Prague in 2019, the light hitting the old buildings reminded me why I loved drawing as a kid. Now I spend my mornings in Wenceslas Square sketching before heading to my studio.
