About the Artwork

Three tall palms lean along the far edge of a pale aqua pool, and the afternoon sun throws their shadows straight across the water toward you. Dwight Ambrose paints the ripples in soft broken strokes of white and mint, so the light seems to move as you look at it. Past the palms, a hazy ocean meets a cream and blush sky.

This piece of poolside art comes from our Palm Springs Poolside collection, painted in a soft contemporary impressionist style. The palette stays quiet and sun-faded: sandy deck, sage fronds with hints of peach, and that cool teal water that carries the whole scene. It reads as palm tree wall art with a calm, unhurried mood rather than a loud tropical one.

It suits anyone who misses long vacation afternoons, collects palm springs wall art, or simply wants a little warmth and stillness on the wall. If you have been looking for swimming pool wall art that feels painted by hand instead of printed from a photo, this one fits.

As canvas wall art, it hangs nicely in a living room, a bright bedroom, or a guest room, and works as patio wall art in a covered outdoor space. Pair it with linen, light wood, and rattan for an easy coastal look.

Most paintings improve when you leave something out. Years as a boatyard carpenter gave me patience and an eye for how light sits on water and weathered wood. In a Portland sail loft where fog rolls in most mornings, I work on harbors, marsh grasses and quiet shorelines with loose brushwork and knife passes. The haze does the rest.
