About the Artwork
Two whole pomegranates hang heavy from a short leafy branch, their crowned tops pointing toward the floor. Ignacio Barrera built them up with thick palette knife strokes, laying red, coral, gold, and flecks of turquoise across each rounded skin so the fruit seems to catch light from every side. Thin drips of paint run down from the fruit, and the slender leaves shift between teal and olive.
Behind them, broad sweeps of hot pink, cream, and orange cut across the canvas at an angle, with a dark block of navy and aqua in the lower corner. This pomegranate painting keeps the familiar kitchen still life but gives it the loose energy of the Expressive Color style.
It's for the cook who likes a little noise on the walls, anyone gathering colorful kitchen wall art, or someone who loves fruit wall art with real texture rather than a flat graphic. The tall format makes it an easy pick for vertical kitchen wall art beside a window or a narrow stretch of cabinets.
Hang this canvas wall art above a coffee bar, at the end of a breakfast nook, or as dining room wall art where the pinks can pick up linens or dishes. It warms up a white kitchen and holds its own against wood and brass.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I paint in a courtyard studio in Puebla, a short walk from the old market. Mixing dyes in a textile factory taught me how pigment shifts with heat, time and the fabric beneath it. My expressive canvases begin in deep shadow, and I charge them with blue, magenta and orange poured and brushed wet into wet, letting colors bleed before I pull them back.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
