About the Artwork
Three slim upright rectangles stand in a row, each one shorter than the last, like sanded wooden slats set against a quiet wall. Eric Thornton painted them in birch, ash and walnut, with fine vertical lines dragged through the paint so each one reads like real grain. Small shadows at the base keep them grounded on a pale gray floor.
The background is worked in thin, scraped layers of cream that feel close to plaster, with faint brush marks you notice up close. It's modern Scandinavian wall art at its simplest: a few honest shapes, a soft light, and nothing extra. As a neutral abstract painting, it brings the earthy warmth of wood without a single loud note.
This piece is for people who like their rooms calm and uncluttered, who lean toward japandi wall art and natural materials. If you collect earth tone wall art or want something restful that still has a point of view, the stepped rhythm of these three slats gives the eye a gentle place to land.
As canvas wall art, it works well as wall art above bed in a linen-toned bedroom, over a low oak console, or in a reading corner with soft light. Its tall format fits narrow walls and hallways, and the muted palette sits easily beside white walls, warm woods and stone.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
My studio sits above a frame shop in northeast Minneapolis, and in winter the snow outside does half my thinking for me. Eight years as a cabinetmaker taught me to sand until nothing extra remains. I paint matte acrylic in birch, ash and fog tones, letting two or three soft blocks of colour meet along one careful edge, then leaving the rest of the canvas alone.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
