About the Artwork

One heavy pine bough reaches in from the left and nearly spans the whole canvas. Daphne Rowe built every needle from short green palette knife strokes, then laid thick cream snow along the branch so it sits up off the surface. Three brown pinecones hang below, each scale pressed in with the edge of the knife.
