About the Artwork

This highland cow has clearly misjudged the size of the tub. Everett Langston painted it wedged into a clawfoot bath, long upswept horns reaching past both rims, its ginger fringe flopped over its eyes while water slops over the edge and drips down onto the floor.

Every inch is built with a palette knife. The coat is laid down in thick, layered strokes of honey, tan and rose, the tub in pale aqua and lilac, and the wall behind is a patchwork of teal and lavender slabs that you can almost feel. This highland cow bathroom wall art has real texture and a gentle, deadpan humor.

It suits anyone who loves farm animals, Scottish cattle or a bathroom that doesn't take itself too seriously. It also makes an easy gift for the friend who already has a cow mug or two. As bathroom wall decor it brings color and a smile without feeling loud.

Hang this canvas wall art above the tub, beside the vanity or as a cheerful piece of powder room wall art where guests will spot it. The soft teal and lavender tones sit nicely with white tile, brushed nickel or warm wood.

Working in wine country taught me how light changes everything. I started sketching vineyard animals during slow afternoons, and those quick studies of horses and farm dogs became my first serious paintings.
