About the Artwork

A small hedgehog walks low to the ground, nose down, easing toward a single orange-capped mushroom just ahead of it. Lennox Carver painted the quills one by one in warm tan and cream, slipped flecks of lavender and slate blue between them, and gave the face a dark, gentle mask with a tiny glinting eye.

Around the hedgehog, everything loosens up. The sky is brushed in wide, buttery strokes of cream and soft lilac, and the ground is a patchwork of sage, sand and dusty violet dabs with a few blades of grass. That contrast between the careful animal and the airy background is what makes this hedgehog nursery art feel calm instead of busy.

It belongs with parents who want pastel nursery wall art that still feels like a real painting, and it pairs naturally with other nursery animal portraits from our Woodland Nursery collection. It also makes a thoughtful baby shower gift for anyone who loves quiet woodland creatures.

Hang this nursery canvas wall art above a crib, a changing table or a reading chair. It sits beautifully beside sage green nursery wall art, natural wood furniture and linen textiles, and it grows easily into a child's bedroom or playroom later on.

Working on race cars for twelve years taught me precision, but a small chapel in rural Washington showed me grace. Now I paint the intersection of speed and stillness, finding sacred moments in everyday chaos.
