“Working on race cars for twelve years taught me precision, but a small chapel in rural Washington showed me grace. Now I paint the intersection of speed and stillness, finding sacred moments in everyday chaos.”
Twelve years as a race car mechanic gave Lennox Carver a feel for precision. A small chapel in rural Washington offered something else: grace. Carver now works from Seattle, Washington, after studying at the Berlin University of the Arts, and looks for quiet, sacred moments amid everyday noise.
Faith is the subject, rendered in an impressionist style with abstract layers and warm beige, brown, orange and red. A simple chapel sits among golden wheat fields, and crosses stand on a hillside and over still water. Portraits of Jesus gazing upward and of the Virgin Mary in teal and ivory complete the set. You’ll find all five canvases just below.
