About the Artwork

There's movement in this piece, even standing still. Two gulls circle above shallow surf where foam meets wet sand, their white bodies catching soft afternoon light. The brushwork is loose and quick, with thick dabs of cream and grey for the birds' wings, coral red for their feet and beaks. The water rolls in gentle bands of teal, sage, and pale blue.

The artist works with visible brushstrokes that give everything texture. Sky and water blur together at the horizon line. The paint sits thick on the canvas in places, thin in others. It's an impressionist take on a coastal moment, more about feeling than detail.

This connects with anyone who's spent time on Galveston beaches or misses the Gulf Coast. A solid choice for Texans living inland who want a piece of home. Gift giving, sorted, especially for someone who grew up near water.

This belongs in bedrooms or living rooms where you want something calming. The muted palette works with a lot of different styles. Good for coastal homes or anywhere you need a breath of salt air.

Working with four-year-olds taught me to see colors the way kids do - pure and unfiltered. After seven years in early childhood education, I started painting seriously in 2011. My watercolors try to capture that same sense of wonder and spontaneity I saw in my students' artwork every day.

The seagulls have landed

The seagulls, surprisingly not stealing my chips, make for a rather stylish wall adornment.

Poetic voyage

Like poetry, the seagulls dance against the stormy grey sky. A beautiful symphony of nature captured on canvas.
