About the Artwork

A little pink piglet stands square in a deep bed of straw, snout lifted toward the late-day sun. Bennett Hawthorne built this one up with a palette knife, so the straw crisscrosses in thick ridges of gold and cream, flecked with bits of coral and lavender, while the weathered barn boards behind fade into soft browns and grays.

Look closely and you'll see the light doing most of the work. It glows through the piglet's ears, catches the fine bristles along its back, and warms the curl of its tail. Among farmhouse paintings, this one feels less like a postcard and more like a quiet moment you happened to walk in on.

It's made for anyone who loves farm animal wall art with a sense of humor and heart, from folks who grew up around barns to city dwellers who just want a bit of country wall decor that makes them smile every morning.

Hang this canvas wall art over a breakfast nook as farmhouse kitchen wall art, in a mudroom, or in a kid's room where its warm golds and pinks soften the space. It pairs easily with wood, linen, and other modern rustic wall art.

After years mixing cocktails in Manhattan dive bars, I moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2015. The morning fog rolling over these hills reminded me why I loved painting before life got complicated. Now I spend my days chasing that soft light through the seasons.
