About the Artwork

This little goat climbed to the top of the hay bale and is clearly pleased with itself. Ellis Whitmore painted it in thick palette knife impasto, so the white coat is built from ridges of cream, lilac, and soft blue paint, the ears glow pink-red against the light, and the straw below bristles with golden strokes you can almost feel.

Behind it, a split-rail fence runs across a sunlit barnyard, a low line of trees and a small shed sit on the horizon, and the sky is a pale blue broken by buttery clouds. It's a cheerful piece of goat wall art that keeps the texture of the original painting front and center.

It's made for anyone who loves farm life, grew up around 4-H barns, or just wants farm animal wall art with real personality. If your style leans modern rustic wall art, the loose, sculpted brushwork gives a traditional subject a fresh, contemporary feel.

Hang this canvas wall art as farmhouse kitchen wall art above a breakfast nook, in a mudroom, or in a kid's room that needs some country wall decor. Choose a bigger size for a large farmhouse wall art statement over a sofa or console, or pair it with other rustic canvas prints along a hallway.

Working with hospice patients for eight years taught me about finding peace in difficult moments. I started painting biblical scenes as a way to process what I witnessed daily. The transition from caring for souls to capturing spiritual light felt natural.
