About the Artwork

She has slid down off the sofa and onto the floor, back against the emerald velvet, gown spread around her like spilled wine. Her head tips back and away, eyes closed, while one hand holds a martini up into the light. Marlo Shepard paints it all in short, chunky dabs of color, so the room seems to shimmer the way a late evening does.

Look closely and the mauve and burgundy dress breaks into lilac, peach and cream marks, and the sofa carries flecks of gold and blue across its deep green. It's vibrant modern impressionism with a loose, happy hand. Among our cocktail art prints, this is the one that feels like the end of a good party, not the start.

It suits anyone who loves moody wall art with warmth in it, or wants feminine wall art that has a little attitude. As martini wall art, it says more about the mood than the drink, which is exactly why it works.

Hang this canvas wall art above a home bar cart, in a dressing room, or in a dim living room corner next to a velvet chair. It also makes easy bar wall decor for a lounge or speakeasy-style den where the emerald green and burgundy tones can pick up your upholstery.

After bombing on stage at a comedy club in 2019, I walked into an art supply store instead of going home. The movement in sports reminds me of timing in comedy - everything depends on the perfect moment.
