About the Artwork

The Chicago River at dusk, when the streetlights just started winning against daylight. The iconic skyline rises in deep blues and purples, canvas wall art that captures those violet-pink gradients only Midwestern sunsets seem to manage. The water holds perfect mirror images of the bridge lights, street lamps glowing gold against buildings layered front to back like a stage set.

This impressionist approach uses loose brushwork where it counts. The light reflections dance across the water in thick strokes, while the architecture stays sharp enough to recognize. The color palette leans romantic without going soft, all those purples and blues cut through with warm amber light. The composition pulls your eye down the river, past that bridge, into the layers of buildings beyond.

For anyone who's walked the Riverwalk at dusk or appreciates Chicago for reasons beyond deep dish pizza. A thoughtful gift for transplants missing home or locals wanting their city on the wall without going the obvious route. The kind of piece that connects with people who know these streets.

This anchors living rooms or offices nicely, especially spaces with cool-toned walls that let the warm light accents pop. Works in bedrooms too if you like cityscapes that lean peaceful rather than energetic. The finish catches light throughout the day, which matters more than you'd think.

Working harvest seasons in Oregon wine country taught me to see color differently. The way morning fog rolled through the Willamette Valley inspired my first serious paintings in 2014. Moving to Pittsburgh brought urban subjects into my work, but I still paint landscapes like I'm remembering those vineyard mornings.

It looks amazing!

It looks amazing! The material creates the look of natural texture, even without raised detail.
