About the Artwork

This bengal tiger painting catches the big cat mid-turn, head swung back over its shoulder, amber eyes steady and unhurried. Everett Langston built the whole thing with a palette knife, laying down broad slabs of orange, ochre and cream, then cutting the black stripes in clean, confident sweeps.

Up close you can see every ridge of paint. The white ruff around the face is pulled out in thin, feathery strokes, the whiskers are scratched in fine and bright, and the background is a loose patchwork of teal, lavender and coral that keeps the tiger front and center.

It suits anyone who loves wildlife but wants something with more texture and energy than a photo. Collectors of big cat art, people drawn to bold color, and anyone who appreciates a painting where you can see the artist's hand will feel at home with it.

As canvas wall art, it holds its own above a sofa, in a home office, or along a hallway where people pass and catch that look. The warm oranges play nicely against neutral walls, and the teal ties in easily with blue or green accents.

Working in wine country taught me how light changes everything. I started sketching vineyard animals during slow afternoons, and those quick studies of horses and farm dogs became my first serious paintings.
