About the Artwork

A small oblong lamp reads Quiet Please in loose, hand-brushed letters, glowing soft white above the dark corner of a studio door frame. Its light spills down the wall, catching every ridge of the plaster and the thin drips that run below the box.

Colette Mercer built this piece with a palette knife in a strict black and white palette. The paint sits thick and cracked like old wall finish, and the door trim is pressed in heavy charcoal strokes so the glow feels even brighter against it. It's part of her Vintage Studio Microphones collection, where the quiet moments before a take get as much attention as the gear.

This bedroom music wall art is for musicians, home recording fans, podcasters and anyone who likes a little studio hush in their space. It works as a gentle reminder to slow down, or as an inside joke for the person who always has headphones on.

Hang this canvas wall art above a bed, beside a desk with a mixer, or in a music room wall art grouping next to framed records. The neutral tones sit easily with gray walls, black furniture and warm wood.

After fifteen years reading teleprompters, I needed something real to focus on. My neighbor's cat would sit perfectly still in afternoon light, and I started sketching her during lunch breaks. Now I spend mornings painting animals before the world wakes up.
