About the Artwork

A big orange tiger stretches out on a hot pink rock, front paws crossed and tail curled down the side, looking straight at you with calm amber eyes. Around it, oversized palm fronds and monstera leaves in mint green and electric blue frame the scene against a sky of sunny yellow and tangerine.

Maren Ellison paints this tiger painting with a dry, brushy texture you can almost feel. The fur is built from short strokes of gold, cream and black, while the leaves are flat, graphic shapes cut with crisp slits and veins. The pairing of soft fur against bold, poster-like plants gives it a playful pop art punch.

It suits anyone who loves big cats, tropical color and art that feels cheerful without being silly. It makes a fun gift for a tiger fan, a new apartment or someone who likes their walls loud and happy.

Hang this canvas wall art in a living room with rattan and plants, above a bright bed in a kid's or teen's room, or in a hallway that needs a jolt of color. The pinks, blues and oranges work well with white walls and warm wood.

After fifteen years creating window displays for department stores, I realized I was already composing abstract scenes every day. The transition to canvas felt natural, though now my compositions exist beyond seasonal deadlines and commercial constraints.
