About the Artwork

This wolf looks straight at you, calm and steady, with amber eyes set in a face built from thick slabs of paint. Willa Prescott laid every stroke with a palette knife, so the fur reads as layered chips of gray, cream, gold and soft violet, with flashes of coral and turquoise tucked into the ruff.

The background is a loose field of turquoise and lavender, scraped on with the same knife and left a little cracked and textured. That ridged impasto catches light from the side, and it gives this wolf portrait painting a sculpted, almost tactile feel even as a print.

It's for anyone who loves wolves but wants something fresher than a dark forest scene. The pastel palette keeps it friendly and bright, while the frontal pose keeps the wild character fully intact. A good pick for animal lovers, cabin dreamers and people drawn to bold, hands-on brushwork.

Hang this canvas wall art above a sofa, in a reading nook or at the end of a hallway where that gaze can greet you. Choose a size that works as a large wolf canvas for a feature wall, or go smaller for a bedroom or office shelf wall.

Working at a Vermont dairy farm for three years taught me to really observe animals up close. The way light hit a cow's flank at sunrise, how horses shifted their weight - these small details became everything in my paintings.
