About the Artwork
Douglas Pruitt started with a field of soft white, brushed in loose, overlapping layers until it reads like an old plaster wall. Faint gray clouds settle into the corners and along the bottom edge. Then comes one thin charcoal line, doubled in places where the stick caught, curving slowly from the upper right down toward the lower left like a thread drifting through still air.
This is white minimalist wall art that rewards a second look. The surface is quietly busy, with dry-brush streaks and small scuffs that give it the worn, honest feel of wabi sabi wall art. As a neutral abstract painting it stays calm, yet the single line keeps it from ever feeling empty.
It suits people who like their walls to breathe. If your home leans toward pale woods, linen, and stone, this piece fits right in as japandi wall art, and its brushed layers give it the depth of textured abstract wall art without adding any color noise.
Hang this canvas wall art above a low bed, along a hallway, or in a reading corner where you want serene wall art that settles the room. It also works beautifully as minimalist bathroom wall art, where its soft whites and grays echo tile and porcelain.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I work out of a small barn studio just outside Portland, Maine, where the fog rolls in most mornings. Before painting full time I was a newspaper photo editor, and twenty years of black and white prints trained my eye for tone over colour. I build each canvas slowly in oil, softening harbors and pine lines into gentle greys with a broad brush and a few charcoal accents.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
