About the Artwork
This western landscape painting gives most of its room to the sky. Wesley Danforth lets peach and dusty rose clouds drift across a pale blue haze, then sets a small red-brown barn low on the horizon, its tin roof catching the last light. A split-rail fence runs in from the corner and leads your eye right to the open barn door.
The brushwork is soft and loose, in the Soft Contemporary Impressionism style Wesley paints with. Sage clumps and clay-colored dirt are laid in with quick, layered strokes, and the far hills fade into a lavender line. It feels like the quiet stretch of evening on a ranch after the work is done.
It suits anyone who grew up near open pasture, or who just wants a calm piece of western wall decor that doesn't lean on cliches. There are no riders or cattle here, only land, fence and weather, which makes it easy to live with every day.
As canvas wall art, it hangs well over a sofa, a farmhouse dining table or a bed in a guest room, and it reads nicely as cabin wall art in a lodge or getaway. The warm peach and sage tones sit comfortably beside wood, leather and linen.

Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
I paint in a weathered shed behind my house in Gloucester, a few streets up from the harbor. Working as a sternman on a lobster boat taught me to read the changing light over water at dawn. My soft impressionist canvases are built from small, loose dabs of sand, mist and faded sea blue, kept low in contrast so the painting settles quietly into a room.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
