About the Artwork

This walrus painting is pure bath-time contentment. He's sprawled belly-up in a navy clawfoot tub, tusks pointing at the ceiling, whiskers bristling, one front flipper flopped lazily over the cream rim. Willa Prescott built every fold of his pink and olive hide with a palette knife, so the paint sits thick and ridged like real skin.

The background is just as lively. Choppy slabs of turquoise and aqua cover the wall, flecked with peach and coral, while the floor glows in warm ochre tiles. The tub's gilded claw feet catch the light. Up close it reads as texture and color. From across the room it's a walrus who has clearly earned his soak.

It's made for anyone who likes their bathroom wall decor with a sense of humor, and for people who appreciate a painting where you can see every stroke. A good pick for walrus fans, ocean lovers, or anyone who takes a long bath seriously.

As bathroom canvas wall art, it holds up to the bold color of a modern bathroom wall art scheme and brightens a guest bath or a small powder room wall art spot just as well. Hang it over the tub, beside the vanity, or anywhere you want a grin.

Working at a Vermont dairy farm for three years taught me to really observe animals up close. The way light hit a cow's flank at sunrise, how horses shifted their weight - these small details became everything in my paintings.
