About the Artwork

This koala has found the one spot in the house that feels like a eucalyptus fork. It's wedged into the sloping back of an empty clawfoot tub, eyes shut, arms hanging limp over the rim with its claws dangling. Sawyer Maddox painted the fur in soft gray and brown washes, gave the tub a deep indigo glaze, and finished the feet in golden ochre scrollwork.
