About the Artwork

Two wooden chaise longues sit side by side under a single open umbrella, its canopy a soft dusty pink. Adam Fletcher paints them small against a wide cream wall, letting the brushwork do the talking: loose, layered strokes of sand and ivory, a few soft shadows on the deck, and a thin strip of muted aqua water running along the bottom edge. This chaise longue painting is mostly quiet space, and that's the point.

Part of our Palm Springs Poolside collection, it carries that desert resort calm without leaning on the usual props. No palms, no glare, just the hush of an empty deck in the afternoon. It reads as modern and pared back, and sits easily with mid century modern wall art, clean lines and warm wood furniture.

It's for anyone who misses the slow hours by the water, or who wants swimming pool wall art that feels restful rather than loud. If you've been looking for palm springs wall art with a softer, more painterly hand, this one fits the bill.

Hang it over a bed, a linen sofa or a console in a sunny entry. It also works as poolside wall art in a covered outdoor room or as patio wall art in a sheltered lounge. Printed as canvas wall art, the texture of the paint comes through nicely, so it looks right close up and from across the room.

I work out of a bright warehouse studio in Boise, a short walk from the river. Before painting full time I mixed audio for a public radio station, and I learned that silence between sounds matters as much as the sounds themselves. I apply soft acrylic grounds in sage and putty, then add a few graphite lines or one floating shape and stop before the canvas gets loud.
