About the Artwork

Elias Corbin built this teal and cream tile grid painting one slab at a time. Each small square is pressed down with the knife, some in faded teal mixed from indigo and sage, others in cream and warm ochre, with a single rust tile sitting near the center. Thin seams of metallic gold run between them like grout, and short drips trail down from the lower rows into the pale ground.
