About the Artwork

This star of Bethlehem painting keeps things quiet and wide open. A single golden star hangs high in a deep indigo sky, its long rays pulled out in clean, ridged strokes. Below it, a lone date palm rises from the sand, and a low line of violet hills runs across the horizon where the last pink and cream light is fading.

Maren Hollis built the whole scene with a palette knife, so the paint sits thick and sculpted on the surface. You can see the flat, cracked slabs of blue in the sky, the layered fronds of the palm, and the sandy ridges of the desert floor catching the light. It reads like an o holy night wall art piece without a single figure in it, just the sky doing the talking.

It suits anyone who wants Christian Christmas wall art that feels calm and a little unexpected, more of a still moment than a busy nativity. It makes a thoughtful gift for a pastor, a parent who loves the Christmas story, or a friend who keeps the season simple and reverent.

Hang this Christian canvas wall art over a fireplace mantel, in an entry hall, or above a reading chair where it can stay up well past December. The blues and warm sands also sit easily next to the rest of your christmas canvas prints and holiday greenery.

Working with patients taught me to see healing in unexpected places. I started painting scripture verses as gifts for my church family in 2019, but the abstract backgrounds began taking over the canvases. Now those color fields tell their own stories.
