About the Artwork
This spiral staircase painting puts you inside a tall, narrow stone tower, looking at worn wedge-shaped steps as they fan around a central column and climb out of sight. Light from a single slit window high on the wall rakes across the treads, so each edge catches a bright line while the lower turn of the stair drops into shadow.
Raymond Kincaid built the whole scene with a palette knife. Thick ridges of sand, tan and ochre sit next to small patches of rust orange and cool blue, so the stone looks weathered and patched by centuries of hands and feet. Up close it reads almost like a mosaic. Step back and the curve of the stair pulls your eye straight up.
It suits anyone drawn to old buildings, castle towers and quiet corners of European towns, or anyone who simply likes architectural wall art with real texture and warmth. The muted, earthy palette keeps it calm rather than dramatic.
As canvas wall art, the tall vertical format makes natural hallway wall art and works well as stair landing wall decor, where the climbing steps echo your own. It also fits a narrow entry, a reading nook or a study that needs a piece of spiral staircase wall art with a little history in it.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
When I pick a scene, I look for forms simple enough to build in a few planes: a saguaro, a canyon, a monsoon sky over the Rincon Mountains. Servicing jet engines gave me respect for tools. So I lay thick slabs of oil with a knife, burnt orange against violet shadow, and scrape the edges clean in one pass.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
