About the Artwork

A red fox has found the warmest spot on the beach. Curled tight in a sandy hollow, nose tucked into a thick brush of a tail, it sleeps while the dune grasses lean in around it. Lennox Carver painted the coat in loose strokes of rust, cream and soft gray, and let the morning haze turn the sea and sky into one pale wash.

This piece of sleeping fox art is done in a soft contemporary impressionist style. The sand is built from broad, creamy brushwork with cool violet shadows, and the grasses are flicked in with quick lines of sage and straw. Up close you can see every stroke. From across the room it reads as one calm, sunlit moment.

It's for anyone who loves quiet wildlife scenes, beach walks at first light, or simply the sight of an animal completely at rest. If you've been looking through fox art prints for something gentler than the usual alert, staring pose, this one fits the bill.

As canvas wall art, it settles easily into a coastal living room, a bedroom with linen and driftwood tones, or a reading nook. The sandy palette also works as fox bathroom decor in a beach cottage or guest bath, where its calm mood feels right at home.

Working on race cars for twelve years taught me precision, but a small chapel in rural Washington showed me grace. Now I paint the intersection of speed and stillness, finding sacred moments in everyday chaos.
