About the Artwork

Austin Petrov built this one in slow, buttery layers. A single peak rises in the middle, its ridge catching a thin line of soft gold, while rolling hills in warm sand, dusty rose and muted sage fold in front of it. The sky is a pale wash of cream and powder blue, brushed in long horizontal strokes.

You can see the paint here. Thick ridges of color sit along the hill edges, little palette-knife trails run across the slopes, and the foreground breaks into loose, open marks. It reads as a calm neutral mountain wall art piece up close and as a quiet mountain range canvas from across the room.

This is for people who love the outdoors but want their walls to stay soft and easy. If you have been looking through mountain art prints and keep skipping the bold, high-contrast ones, this hazy, low-key palette is probably what you have been after. It also works as gentle mountain nursery wall art.

Hang it above a linen sofa, a bed with oatmeal bedding, or a console in a warm-toned entry. The sand and sage tones sit nicely with wood, rattan and white walls, which makes this canvas wall art an easy choice for a living room that leans calm and natural.

Working construction sites in Prague for two summers showed me how morning light hits old stone differently than anything back home. I'd sketch during lunch breaks, filling margins of work orders with cathedral spires and cobblestone patterns that still show up in my paintings today.
