“Working construction sites in Prague for two summers showed me how morning light hits old stone differently than anything back home. I'd sketch during lunch breaks, filling margins of work orders with cathedral spires and cobblestone patterns that still show up in my paintings today.”

About Austin

Two summers on construction sites in Prague left a lasting mark on Austin Petrov. The former electrician noticed how morning light fell on old stone and spent lunch breaks drawing spires and cobbled streets on scraps of paperwork. Petrov studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and now works from Columbus, Ohio.

That old-world pull runs through the work, an impressionist style with abstract touches in blue, beige, brown and gray. The shop’s best sellers include the golden fountains of Peterhof Palace, brick warehouses along Hamburg’s Speicherstadt canals, terracotta rooftops in Thessaloniki’s upper town and the Bernardine Gardens in Vilnius. Below are Petrov’s most popular canvases, printed on matte canvas and stretched over solid wood.
