About the Artwork

A rabbit has settled into the basin of a pedestal sink like it pays rent there. Ears straight up, paws tucked on the rim, whiskers out, it looks perfectly content with its choice. Sylvie Aldridge painted it with a palette knife, building thick ridges of lavender, honey gold and a little turquoise into the fur so the coat almost shimmers.

The background is a soft sage green laid down in broad, chunky strokes with patches of cream showing through. The sink is all creamy whites and pale violets, sculpted in heavy impasto that catches the light. It is sage green bathroom wall art with real texture and a quiet sense of humor.

This piece is for anyone who likes their bathroom wall decor with a wink, rabbit lovers, and people who want something handmade-looking instead of another generic print. It is part of our Funny Bathroom Animals collection, original work by our own painters printed as canvas wall art.

Hang it above a pedestal sink for the obvious joke, or let it soften a tiled wall as modern bathroom wall art. It works as powder room wall art where guests will spot it right away, and the muted greens and creams also sit nicely in a hallway or bedroom. As bathroom canvas wall art it brings color without shouting.

Sylvie Aldridge

After years creating costumes for Boston theater productions, I discovered that mixing pigments felt just like dyeing fabrics. The transition from dressing characters to painting biblical scenes happened gradually, but the storytelling instinct remained the same.
