About the Artwork

A red wolf trots along the edge of a coastal marsh just as the sun drops low. Camille Forrest paints its coat in warm rust and cinnamon, with a darker saddle across the shoulders and a pale muzzle turned toward the water. Tall grasses glow gold around its legs, and longleaf pines along the far shore catch the last of the light.

This red wolf art is built from thick, confident strokes in her vibrant modern impressionist style. Dabs of violet, coral, and teal scatter through the reeds, long purple shadows stretch across the sandy path, and the marsh water breaks into flecks of peach and sky blue. Up close it reads as loose color. Step back and the whole evening comes together.

It suits anyone who loves the wild Southeast, wildlife on the move, or simply paintings full of warm light. Red wolves are among the rarest wolves in North America, which makes this a meaningful gift for nature lovers, conservation supporters, and anyone drawn to quiet, watchful animals.

As canvas wall art, it brings warmth to a living room, den, or office, and the golden palette sits easily with wood tones and soft neutrals. Choose a large wolf canvas size to give the marsh room to breathe above a sofa or fireplace.

After teaching middle school music for eight years in Boston, I moved to Vermont and discovered painting through a community art class. The geometric patterns I use come from musical notation structures I learned as a kid studying piano with my neighbor Mrs. Rodriguez.
