Professional Office Decor with Basalt Columns - Canvas Wall Art

Valerie Ashby built these basalt columns the way nature does, one heavy slab at a time. Each faceted shaft rises from the base in thick charcoal and slate knife strokes, and the lit faces catch a warm wash of sandstone and ivory. The ridges and cracks in the paint stand up off the surface, so this textured canvas wall art reads almost like real stone when the light hits it from the side.

Part of the Mineral Stone Panoramas collection, this piece is palette knife abstract art with a solid subject underneath. The sky behind the columns is a loose drift of cream, tan and pale blue grey, which keeps the whole composition calm and lets those tall grey forms do the talking. It began as hand painted canvas art in Valerie's studio, and the print keeps every scrape and ridge of her knife.

As professional office decor, it brings a quiet sense of strength and order without shouting about it. It suits anyone drawn to geology, architecture or simply earth tone wall art that feels grounded and steady. Lawyers, consultants, designers and anyone who spends long days at a desk will appreciate something this solid to look up at.

Hang this canvas wall art behind a desk, in a conference room or along a tall entry wall where its vertical lines can stretch out. It pairs well with walnut, black metal, linen and leather, and it sits comfortably next to other sandstone wall art in a warm neutral room.
