About the Artwork

Low hills roll across the bottom of this plum hills at sunset painting in deep plum, dusty mauve and warm ochre. Above them, a tall sky stacks up in broad slabs of peach, apricot, blush and cream. A thin teal river winds through the valley and catches the last of the light.

Autumn Carlisle built every stroke with a palette knife, laying the paint on thick so the edges ridge and the slabs overlap like layered stone. Up close it reads as textured abstract wall art, and from across the room the landscape comes into focus.

This piece suits anyone who loves desert evenings, quiet road trips, or a warm palette that still feels calm. The soft peaches and mauves sit easily beside wood, linen and cream walls without taking over the room.

Hang this canvas wall art above a sofa as neutral living room wall art, or let its tall format fill the wall beside a sideboard as neutral wall art for dining room spaces. It also works well in a hallway or reading corner where the warm glow can be seen in passing.

After fifteen years spinning records at late-night radio, I needed something quieter but just as creative. Tearing up old album covers and sheet music felt natural, like remixing but with paper and paint instead of turntables.
