I paint in the back room of a Richmond row house, surrounded by longboxes I never sold. Running a comic shop taught me how panels, halftone dots and heavy inks move the eye. I lay down orange, pink and electric blue in flat fields, add Ben-Day dots with hand-cut stencils, and finish with thick inked black contours using a sable brush.
