About the Artwork

Golden hour hits the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps, and suddenly this iconic landmark becomes pure light and shadow. Those famous stairs glow in amber and peach tones while small figures climb toward the classical columns above. The sky swirls with thick, expressive brushstrokes in soft blues and creams, giving the whole scene a dreamlike quality.

The artist treats architecture like landscape here. Loose, confident strokes build the museum's neoclassical facade while the steps become ribbons of warm color. Notice how the shadows anchor the composition, keeping all that golden light from floating away. It's impressionist canvas wall art that captures a specific moment without getting fussy about the details.

Made for Philly natives and anyone who's ever made that Rocky run up the steps. Also works as a thoughtful gift for history buffs, architecture lovers, or college grads who spent weekends at the museum.

The warm palette makes it at home in living rooms, home offices, or entryways. Size and subject matter give it enough presence to hold a wall on its own.

After fifteen years helping patients regain movement, I found myself drawn to capturing the opposite—stillness. The impressionist masters at the Boston MFA became my teachers during lunch breaks. Now I paint quiet moments in New England landscapes, focusing on how light changes everything it touches.
