About the Artwork

Two words, brushed by hand in soft sage green: Be Gentle. Rui Teixeira painted them across a warm cream plaster wall, framed by a blush arch with slightly feathered edges. Three butterflies in lavender, butter yellow and powder blue drift around the letters, and two leafy stems rise from a sandy brown floor line below.

This painted quote canvas keeps the boho painted look honest. You can see the drag of the brush in the lettering and the swirl of texture in the plaster background. It reads as inspirational quote wall art without shouting, more of a quiet reminder than a slogan.

It suits anyone who needs that reminder on a hard day, and anyone who gives it to others. Counselors and therapists reach for it as therapy room decor, it works as social worker office decor, and it's a thoughtful pick for office wall decor for women who want something kind on the wall. If you collect positive quote prints, this one fits right in.

Hang this butterfly canvas wall art in a nursery, a reading corner, a bedroom or a calm workspace. The muted palette of cream, blush and sage makes it peaceful wall decor that blends with natural wood, linen and soft neutrals.

My first decision is how much of the cream ground stays empty. A quiet surface can hold a room, the way an old tile wall does. Restoring azulejos, I learned how color ages. In a narrow studio near the Douro, under crumbling ochre plaster I love, I layer an arch, a leaf, a low sun in chalky earth tones.
