About the Artwork

This mustang painting catches a bay stallion mid-stride, charging left across a green rise with his head up and his black mane whipping back. Everly Garrison built the horse out of thick palette knife strokes: cobalt blue along the neck and legs, rust brown and golden ochre across the shoulder and flank, with cream highlights that make the muscles read in full motion.

Behind him, the cream background is scraped and streaked, broken up by bursts of teal, magenta and yellow that spray off the canvas like the energy of the run. Paint spatters kick up around his hooves. It's a galloping horse painting that feels loud and alive without losing the shape of a real animal.

If you love contemporary horse art with some grit to it, or you grew up around horses and want something that isn't a quiet portrait, this one is for you. It also suits anyone collecting horse art prints who wants a modern horse painting with real color and movement.

As canvas wall art, it works over a sofa, in a home office, or along a hallway that needs a jolt of color. Pair it with other wild horses wall art or let it stand alone in a room with warm wood and neutral walls.
