About the Artwork

One enormous wave rears up out of an open sea and curls over on itself, its crest tearing into thick white foam. Brandon Keller built this moody wall art with a palette knife, scraping ridges of paint across the curl so you can almost follow the water's spin, while a heavy gray sky drips and streaks above.

The whole piece lives in black, charcoal, gray and off-white. Without color to lean on, the knife marks do the work: sharp edges on the foam, long smooth pulls through the trough, choppy cut-outs in the foreground swell.
