About the Artwork
A single branching cotton stem rises from a weathered stoneware jug, holding up three soft white bolls in their curled brown husks. Dean Whitacre painted the jug in warm clay tones, flecked and chipped with pale patches so it reads like something that has been used for years. The little loop handle, the faint shadow on the table, the brushy linen-toned wall behind it all keep things quiet and unhurried.
This piece of modern rustic wall art leans into that wabi sabi wall art feeling, where worn surfaces and simple forms are the whole point. The palette stays close to the ground: sand, cream, rust and soft bark brown, an earth tone wall art mix that feels calm rather than busy.
It's a good fit for anyone drawn to modern boho wall art with a farmhouse streak, or someone who wants terracotta wall art that isn't loud about it. Cotton lovers, potters and anyone who likes a well-loved jug on the shelf will get it right away.
Hang this canvas wall art above a console in the entry, beside a reading chair or in a kitchen nook with natural wood and linen. As boho wall decor it pairs easily with other beige wall art and earthy wall art, and it holds its own on a plaster-white wall too.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
My studio is an old cotton warehouse loft in Natchez, with walls that still shed flakes of lime plaster. Restoring courthouse murals taught me to read faded color and to build tone slowly rather than force it. I paint my boho pieces in thin, scumbled layers of chalky white, rust and mossy sage, scratching patterns back through with a palette knife until the surface feels lived in.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
