About the Artwork
One bare tree stands alone on a flat, empty field, its rounded crown made of hundreds of fine, threadlike branches. Amy Foreman painted it in soft black and white, letting the late-autumn fog swallow the far tree line until only a faint gray shadow remains. Nothing else breaks the low horizon.
Look closer and the texture shows up. Thick, palette-knife strokes catch the light across the sky, and the foreground grass is laid down in short, broken marks of charcoal and pale gray. It's a minimalist landscape painting that leans on negative space art principles, with most of the canvas left to mist and quiet.
This piece is for anyone who likes a still, unhurried mood on their walls. If your taste runs toward wabi sabi wall art, japandi wall art or simple nordic wall art, the worn surface and muted palette will feel right at home. It reads as zen wall art without leaning on obvious symbols.
Hang this canvas wall art above a bed as minimalist bedroom wall art, or use it as home office wall decor where you want something calm to rest your eyes on. The grays pair easily with white walls, linen, pale wood and black metal.

Materials & Craft
Printed and hand-stretched in the USA, then shipped ready to hang.
My studio is a small cottage behind our house in Asheville, surrounded by ridges that disappear in morning haze. I taught ceramics for many years, and glazing taught me how subtle a range of greys can be. I paint layered mountains and quiet abstracts in oil and cold wax, scraping back with a knife so soft edges and pale gradations do most of the talking.
This canvas exceeded my expectations. The lion and its reflection are beautifully captured, and the quality of the print is superb. It adds a strong, motivational vibe to my room. I get compliments on it all the time!
Thrilled with the quality, the colors and the prompt delivery. Very impressed with this beautiful artwork! Just what this space needed! Will definitely do business with this company again! My clients loved it!! Thank you!!
