About the Artwork

This meadow wildflowers painting feels like a handful picked on a walk and dropped straight into a jar. Coral cosmos, mustard buttercups and dusty-blue cornflowers spill out on long sage stems, with a few tight buds still waiting to open. The clear glass jar shows every crossing stem through the water.

Craig Hollister built the whole scene with a palette knife, laying the paint on thick so each petal has a ridge you can almost feel. The cream and pale blue background is cut into broad, cracked planes, and the warm terracotta tabletop grounds everything below. It's wildflower wall art with real texture and an easy, unfussy charm.

It suits anyone who likes fresh flowers on the table year round, and it sits comfortably in a boho wall art mix or a calmer room built around soft sage green wall art. Printed as canvas wall art, it keeps the look of those heavy knife strokes.

Hang it as stairwell wall decor alongside other pieces from our Stair Gallery Wall Sets, or let it brighten a landing as part of a gallery wall art set. It also works as hallway wall art or entryway wall art, greeting people with a little color the moment they walk in.

People expect horses, bison and prairie birds to be painted soft, every feather in place. Mine come off the knife in thick slabs of oil, warm ochres against cool blues. I spent almost fifteen years building kitchen cabinets in the shop behind our Tulsa house, now my studio. Cabinetry made me respect a surface. A blade, not a brush.
