About the Artwork

Marfa exists in a haze of heat and dust, and this piece gets that exactly right. Tan earth, scrubby brush, a simple structure against a sky washed in coral and sage. The windmill stands quiet. Everything here feels sun-bleached and settled, the kind of scene you'd drive past and remember later.

Loose brushwork keeps it from feeling too precious. The artist sketches in just enough detail to ground you in West Texas, then lets the color do the heavy lifting. Those warm ochres and dusty pinks feel accurate to anyone who's spent time in the high desert.

For anyone with Texas roots or a soft spot for Marfa canvas wall art, this one lands. It's thoughtful enough for the art crowd, accessible enough for everyone else. Makes a solid gift for the person who talks about moving out there someday.

This belongs in living rooms, bedrooms, or a home office where you want a little breathing room on the walls. The horizontal layout and neutral palette make it easy to place without overthinking it.

After fifteen years reading teleprompters, I needed something real to focus on. My neighbor's cat would sit perfectly still in afternoon light, and I started sketching her during lunch breaks. Now I spend mornings painting animals before the world wakes up.
