About the Artwork

Nicole Barrett built this flower one ring at a time. Rust and deep teal petals form the outer wheel, then come mustard, blush pink and a soft sage, all circling a dark cocoa center. Each petal is a flat block of colour with its brush direction still showing. Small rust seed shapes drift around the edges like the bloom is shedding.

It's mandala wall art with a folk art flower painting at its heart. The stem rises from a rounded terracotta hill, two olive and sage leaves reaching out on either side, and the cream background is laid on in sweeping strokes you can almost feel.
